It's a busy area for MACs.
- Novitas published an LCD for pathogens last fall I found maddeningly vague (tests are covered when medically necessary and timely).
- MolDx published a pathogens LCD this spring which is extremely detailed.
- The MolDx tech assessment guide, though, for pathogen panels is a generation forward in clarity and completeness (here).
The new GI LCD proposal from Novitas is in-between, like the middle bowl of porridge in the Goldilocks story.
